Mrs Gloria Kanabe is an accomplished consultant and seasoned maritime practitioner with a proven track record of over 30 years in the International shipping and maritime industry. She holds a Diploma in Business management, as well as a Degree in Law from the University of Lagos. She is also a practicing lawyer, having been called to the bar in 2004 and a certified Arbitrator. She is a staunch researcher and has attended overseas trainings in UK, Denmark, Ivory Coast and South Africa.
She was cluster manager for Lagos, Benin and Lome as well as head of legal and claims in Maersk. She supervised Maersk “neuchatel: a ground-breaking pioneering shipping and insurance incident in 2007. She also introduced terminal operator liability insurance cover for lilypond container terminal. In her role she also served as an interface with major stakeholders such as Nigerian customs service, NAFDAC, NESREA. She is also a role model for many women in the industry, championing women empowerment through organizations like WISTA (Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association) and WIMA (Women in Maritime Africa) where she has been an active member for many years and has served in many committees.She has experience in corporate governance and strategic leadership serving on boards and she is currently the Managing Partner for Hudson Gee Nigeria Ltd (maritime consultants). She brings a unique perspective, exceptional communication skills and a strong commitment to driving organizational success.
